The book contains 50 real life stories of everyday Australians who are living extraordinary lives. The stories are varied in content and character, but all connected by a common thread – that of a desire to make a change in their own lives and the lives of others. I Made a Promise speaks of the empowering spirit of these remarkable Australians, and through telling their stories, seeks to inspire others to make their own personal promise and mark the course of their life.

The aim of the book is to inspire Australians (both children and adults) of all walks of life. It is a compilation book containing 50 short stories which aim to inspire or uplift the reader in some way.

The list of contributors include several high profile people from wide-ranging backgrounds including sporting stars such as former Test Cricketer Greg Matthews, former AFL star Glenn Manton, business leaders such as Maurice Goldberg, Trudy Willis, Avril Henry, Dale Beaumont, Lisa Messenger and leading speakers such as Kirsty Dunphey, Peter Baines, Domonique Bertolucci, Katrina Webb, Shelley Taylor Smith, Bessie Bardot, Robyn Henderson and many more.

There are also several heart-warming stories from organizations such as Make-A-Wish Australia, Starlight Children’s Foundation mother Kate Lawson, RedBalloon Days’ Naomi Simson and leading Melbourne Youth Worker Les Twentyman.

Our charity partner for the book is the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. A portion of the proceeds from the book sales will be donated to the RCH Foundation. The Foreword for the book has been written by Australian Marathon legend Robert de Castella.
